Giving to the Libraries

To fulfill its mission as the chief source of information for Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, our libraries accept donations that support and are relevant to the teaching, research, and other collection needs of the University.

Saint Mary’s Authors

Donated works by faculty, students, staff, and alumni authors are always welcome and will be added to the collection, unless these works do not meet the scope of our collection.

Acceptance Criteria

Saint Mary’s Libraries accept gifts with the understanding that the library may add them to the collection at its discretion or dispose of them if the gifts do not meet the standards for selection. As a general rule, gift items will be added to the collection based on the same criteria as purchased material. The library reserves the right to determine the retention, location, and other considerations related to the use or disposition of all gifts. The library assumes no responsibility for appraisal of gift items.
