After seven years the Chicago Manual of Style has been updated to reflect “the large shifts in the way we read, write, edit, and do research.” (publishers description)
The 17th edition is now available on the library’s online site and the print version can be found at the Reference Desk, the Circulation Desk, and in the stacks.
Here is a summary of some of the more significant changes. Examples include changes for the use of the abbreviation ibid.–now discouraged and clarifications for use of the 3-em dashes. Confused? Video tutorials are available on the online site.
