IT Director Tianna Johnson opened the first Session of the fall semester to introduce new members of the IT team and to describe its organizational structure.  Chad Lang, the new User Services Manager, then took the stage and talked about his experience and what he expects will be the  direction of his department.

Next up Zackery Mayo of the Business Department described his work with an online summer course on extreme sports.  He tried an unusual approach to get students to actually read his syllabus–he gave a quiz on its contents and only after passing the quiz could students see the next segments of the class in Blackboard.  Larry Price, also from the Business Department, then talked about how he got involvement with his students in his online summer course–moving from the email system he was comfortable with to using  the social media venues that his students were actually using.
